Relay How It work and the differences

SPDT relays are widely use in automobile. I have found a few type of relay for different of application. But How does relay work?

Relay work when power apply to terminal 85 and 86. This will result the coil energized and create a magnetic field.
Normal state before power apply to relay is terminal 30 connected to terminal 87a also known as normally close state.
After coil energized, magnetic field will attract terminal 30 spade from terminal 87a moving toward terminal 87. Therefore, power from terminal 30 will transfer to terminal 87.

So far, I found 3 type of it.

• Normal relay or horn relay
• Immobiliser relay
• Power Window relay

   Here is the internal picture of the relays.

For the power window relay, terminal 87 and 87a are internally connected. So when coil energized, both terminal will have powered.

For the immobilizer relay, it dont have pin 87. Which mean this relay only have normally close state. When alarm or immobilizer triggered, it will activated relay and therefore with proper wiring engine cannot start.

Now it is called Peugeot RCZ

The production model is named as Peugeot RCZ [not Peugeot 308 RC-z] - based on 308RC-z concept though. Its name, RCZ, symbolises this special and unique position within the Peugeot range, as it is the first Peugeot car which does not use the usual zero [x0y] or double zero [x00y] numbering system.The challenge faced by the project team is to complete the development of this new vehicle in a particularly short period of time. The Peugeot RCZ will be revealed for the first time to the public, in its final form at the 63rd Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Peugeot RCZ is expected to go on sale in Spring 2010. Long way to go but long enough to save some money for it..., izinit?

The power plants to include the 1.6-litre turbo petrol from the Mini JCW, tuned to deliver an extra 10bhp, while the entry level will be powered by the 150bhp 1.6-litre THP from the Peugeot 207 GT and a 2-litre HDI diesel offering similar power. Transmission choices will be a manual or automatic, both with six speeds.
Peugeots promising sharp dynamics, too, saying the RCZ is aimed at enthusiasts who are particularly discerning with regards to driving enjoyment. In the UK expected prices for the RH-drive to start at around £20,000, undercutting the base Audi TT by a quarter.

Do it Yourself Rear Window Repair on Mitsubishi Truck

Fixing the rear window of your Mitsubishi truck is like fixing the back window of any other truck. Most of the time, this kind of repair would require replacing your old window with a new one, especially if the former is heavily damaged or has a crack. Remember, however, that if the crack is just a small one, applying a good sealant will do the trick, and you wont need to buy a new window for your vehicle.

Check your rear windows for damage by using a pail of water and see if there is a leak. This will help you locate where the damage is and will make your job a lot easier.

Determine whether the seal or the window itself is damaged. This will help you decide whether you only have to seal a leak or a crack or replace the window with a new one. If the seal is broken go to Step 3, if its the window thats broken go straight to Step 4.

Replace the rubber seal on your rear window by cutting the rubber around it. Use your knife to do this. Take your time to remove the rubber until you can easily pull out the window. Put a new rubber seal around your window and put it back into the cars opening. Finish by applying a sealant. Make sure to have some water on hand so you can check if it seals perfectly.

Remove the rubber lock and then take out your window. Change the old window to the new one by firmly securing the area around it with the rubber seal. Finish this by applying sealant and then put the lock back in place.

Allow the sealant to cure for about 15 hours.
